A girl from Wilson, North Carolina, called Brittany Hawley suffers from a condition called complex regional pain syndrome, which caused her to use a wheelchair.
But she needed a service dog to help her as she was a student, so she was given a dog through the paws4prisons program before a few years. Brittany said that the dog, that she named Griffin, was not scared of the wheelchair and directly licked her in the face after jumping right into her lap.
Brittany needed Griffin to help her in her master’s degree at Clarkson University in occupational therapy. And the dog was perfect for that as he attended all of her classes and helped her in many things including fetching supplies and opening doors.
When it was the time to graduate in 2018, Brittany took Griffin with her as shd knew that he helped her to graduate and he deserved to celebrate with her. So, Brittany decided to let Griffin have his own degree in addition to hers as she really deserved that and the university agreed.
